The Perú Fund is a non-sectarian organization that raises money to support water projects in rural Peru. We believe that access to clean water is one of the most powerful instruments in fighting poverty. Easy access to water empowers a community, giving them the ability to guide the means of food production, while allowing its members to lead healthier lives.

As individuals and families become better able to support themselves and flourish within their rural communities they are more likely to remain on their land, protect it from the damaging effects of climate change and preserve their cultural traditions.

We favor projects that depend on the community to carry out the manual work with women and men being equally involved in the planning, leadership, implementation and ongoing maintenance. This gives autonomy to the entire community and provides it with tools to become more self-sufficient.
